ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm

Hello! My name is Estefania Lizarazo, and I am a fashion designer and manager. My passion for fashion design began at a very young age, mainly influenced by cinema and video games of the time.
As a designer, my values focus on sustainability, ethics, and innovation. My purpose is to create fashion that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also respects and protects all forms of life. My approach is to develop sustainable fashion products that maintain a clear and attractive aesthetic for the consumer, without compromising creativity or environmental responsibility.
Throughout my career, I have continuously reflected on my work and design practice. I have identified key skills and competencies, such as experimenting with sustainable materials, developing new pattern-making techniques, and exploring sustainable textile interventions. My aesthetic is influenced both conceptually and visually by Japanese culture and trends, which are characterized by their functionality and a strong focus on sustainability.
My stance as a designer is clear: through experimentation, research, and technological development, we must find new ways to express ourselves without endangering the life around us. We must be open to new ideas and technologies and commit to constant development. Only then can we build a fashion product that not only reflects our aesthetic and skills but also our values and our commitment to a more sustainable and ethical future in fashion.

Despite my name being Estefania, in my daily life I prefer to be called Tef. I’m 20 years old, I love cats, and for that reason, I have a little cat of my own.
According to an online test, my personality type is INTP, and overall, I consider myself a pretty calm person. :))
I enjoy finding spaces that allow the fusion of science with a creative environment.
HOBBIES
☆ Reading manga and comics: Since childhood, I've really enjoyed consuming Japanese entertainment. I love the diversity of stories and magical worlds—it’s something that has strongly influenced my way of thinking and my creative process.
☆ Painting with acrylics: Back in school, I enjoyed painting on my classmates' calculator covers. Later, I tried painting on glass, and it’s something I still really enjoy.
☆ Playing video games: Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated by the ability to experience, live through stories, and explore new worlds—and even meet people—through virtuality.
☆ Watching series and movies: I love watching, learning from, and feeling stories through audiovisual media. Personally, my favorite genres are animation and science fiction.

BODY AND REPRESENTATION RESEARCH GROUP
Under the direction of Professor Santiago Romero Rodríguez, in the research group we explore different types of experimental pattern making: zero-waste, subtractive, kinetic, among others. We focus on understanding how these types of pattern making work both in theory and in practice. Personally, this space has allowed me to learn more about the body and understand its volume and its relationship with the garment from other perspectives, which has been quite enriching and exciting. It is rewarding to conduct research from a sustainable point of view in areas that have not been studied as much and that offer so many new possibilities for the development of the fashion system. :))

COLLABORATION WITH SOCARRÁS
From the research group, we had the opportunity to deliver a piece for the Resort 2025 collection “El jardín de Antonia” by Socarrás, which was presented at the opening runway show of Bogotá Fashion Weekend 2024.
The piece delivered is a shirt that uses zero-waste pattern making and is made with cotton fabric samples from discontinued productions by the brand Dysatex. The design, pattern making, and most of the construction were done by the Body and Representation Research Group.
We had the chance to be backstage at the show and assist with tasks assigned to us during the event preparation, which turned out to be a very enriching experience.
VOLUNTEERING

For one year, I was part of the volunteering program at Ohana University. I participated as a group leader during two student orientations, where I led a group of approximately 30 people on both occasions. I also organized and supported several social integration activities to welcome new students to the university.
TUTORSHIPS
During the second semester of 2024, I worked as a tutor for the course Workshop II: Women’s Apparel and courses within the university’s textile program. My responsibilities included tutoring students, grading assignments, assisting in classes, developing patterns, constructing prototypes, and supporting the organization and execution of the annual fashion show for the Fashion Design and Management program.
